The Black Angels - Indigo Meadow [12", LP]

INDIGO MEADOW is the second full length on the Blue Horizon label for THE BLACK ANGELS, and i can already tell that i like it better than their previous one, Phosphene Dream. It's a little less polished and the songs got some rougher edges again, like in their earlier days. The more i listen to it, the better i like it, but for me Directions To See A Ghost is still their best album. The artwork of Indigo Meadow by the way is quite different than their previous three albums, which all have hallucinating lines on the cover. As you can see on the picture above, this one has a psychedelic sixties-style drawing of the band members. Inside there's a lyrics booklet with some nice drawings (and yes; lines) as well. That's another thing that i really appreciate about The Black Angels: the well looked-after artwork of their releases. Once again they did a great job with that.
