The Brian Jonestown Massacre - Revelation [12", 2LP]

The cover art of REVELATION looks familiar to those who know the split EP that THE BRIAN JONESTOWN MASSACRE recently released for RSD 2014 with The Magic Castles, and the Fist Full Of Bees EP that they released for the same occasion a year earlier. Once again they've released a really strong album and this one will definitely end up in my personal top 10 albums of 2014, that's for sure. Anton Newcombe's record label A Records always has such great thick quality records and also the colours of this release look really fantastic: opaque light blue in the middle, and see-through dark blue on the outside. Gorgeous. The only sad thing is that i still haven't managed to see them live. They were in Amsterdam a while ago, but i couldn't make it that day. I'm sure one day it will happen though ;)

Various Artists - Sorted, Snorted And Sported [12", LP]

Of all compilation albums that Creation Records has released, the Doing It For The Kids album is probably the most well-known. But SORTED, SNORTED AND SPORTED is the one i personally like best. It features some excellent tracks by many of my favourite bands like Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, The Telescopes, Swervedriver and Teenage Fanclub. The song Lundi Bleu by The Times is a laidback cover of New Order's Blue Monday by the way, sung in French. Pretty cool.

Adorable - Against Perfection [12", LP]

I've been looking for a vinyl version of AGAINST PERFECTION for a very long time already. Back in the early nineties there was this local club where they had indie dance nights, and the song Homeboy was played regularly. I remember ordering the CD at the local record shop. It was a pretty expensive UK import album, but i just needed to have it, if only for that song. And I still have it, but during the past few years i really wanted to have a vinyl edition as well of this excellent ADORABLE album. So far i only managed to get hold of two maxi's from songs of this album: Sistine Chapel Ceiling and Favourite Fallen Idol. The album itself is pretty much impossible to find in record stores, and on the internet the prices are ridiculously high; usually over 45 euro at least. However recently i came across one that was fairly priced. The sleeve is a little scuffed but the record itself is in great condition, so this was my chance. Very happy that i bought it, and finally i can play Homeboy on my record player ;)
